Understanding Rubric Scores

After each panel simulation, your responses are evaluated against academic rubrics. Understanding these scores helps you focus your preparation effectively.

The Scoring System​

Score Levels​

Performance is rated on a four-level scale:

Superior75-89%Strong understanding, minor areas for growth
Standard60-74%Meets expectations, room for improvement
UnsatisfactoryBelow 60%Needs significant development

Assessment Areas​

Your responses are evaluated across multiple areas:

Comprehension & Analysis

  • Understanding of core concepts
  • Ability to analyze complex issues
  • Integration of multiple perspectives

Application & Synthesis

  • Applying theory to practical scenarios
  • Connecting ideas across topics
  • Original thinking and synthesis

Communication & Articulation

  • Clarity of expression
  • Organization of ideas
  • Effectiveness of argumentation

Reading Your Scores​

Overall Score​

Your overall score combines all assessment areas into a single number. It gives you a quick sense of your total performance.

Area Scores​

Individual area scores show where you're strong and where to focus:

  • Compare your areas to each other
  • Track specific areas over time
  • Set improvement goals for weak areas

Confidence Level​

Some scores include a confidence indicator:

  • High confidence - Clear evidence in your response
  • Moderate confidence - Some ambiguity in evaluation
  • Low confidence - Limited evidence to assess

Improving Your Scores​

For Lower Scores​

  1. Review the feedback provided
  2. Revisit related course materials
  3. Practice that specific area in prep mode
  4. Focus on that area in your next simulation

For Maintaining High Scores​

  1. Continue practicing to reinforce mastery
  2. Challenge yourself with harder questions
  3. Help others by sharing your strong answers

Score Variability​

It's normal for scores to vary between sessions:

  • Different questions test different knowledge
  • Panel composition affects questioning style
  • Your energy and focus affect performance

Focus on overall trends rather than individual session scores.
