Immersive Mode

Immersive mode transforms panel simulation into a voice-enabled experience. Instead of typing responses, you speak aloud while animated panelists listen and respond with synthesized voices.

Why Use Immersive Mode?

Real oral exams require verbal communication. Immersive mode helps you:

  • Practice speaking your answers aloud
  • Manage pacing and timing
  • Build confidence with verbal delivery
  • Experience realistic pressure of speaking to examiners

The Immersive Experience

Visual Elements

  • Animated Panelists - Each panelist has a visual avatar
  • Speaking Indicators - See who's currently talking
  • Expression Feedback - Panelists show reactions to your responses
  • Turn Indicators - Know when it's your turn to speak

Audio Elements

  • Synthesized Voices - Each panelist has a distinct voice
  • Natural Pacing - Responses feel conversational
  • Audio Cues - Know when to begin speaking

Enabling Immersive Mode

  1. Start a new panel session
  2. On the session setup screen, toggle "Immersive Mode" on
  3. Grant microphone permissions when prompted
  4. Put on headphones for the best experience (recommended)
  5. Click "Start Session"

During the Session

Speaking

  • Wait for panelists to finish their questions
  • Speak clearly at a natural pace
  • The system will detect when you've finished speaking
  • Panelists will respond to what you said

Listening

  • Panelists speak their questions aloud
  • Visual indicators show who is speaking
  • You can also see text transcripts of the conversation

Taking Your Time

  • It's okay to pause and think before responding
  • The panel will wait for you to begin speaking
  • You're not penalized for taking a moment to gather your thoughts

Tips for Immersive Sessions

  1. Find a quiet space - Background noise can interfere with speech recognition
  2. Use headphones - Prevents echo and improves audio quality
  3. Speak clearly - Normal conversation speed works best
  4. Practice alone first - Get comfortable speaking aloud before high-stakes practice
  5. Review transcripts - Check what was captured to improve clarity
