Content Management

Content management lets you control the educational materials available in StratBrain. This includes course documents, exam questions, and the knowledge base that powers AI coaching.

Accessing Content Management

  1. Go to Admin in the navigation
  2. Click "Content" or "Documents"
  3. You'll see the content management dashboard

Managing Course Documents

Course documents provide context for the AI and help students access reference materials.

Uploading Documents

  1. Click "Upload Document"
  2. Select your file (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, or text files supported)
  3. Add metadata:
    • Title - How the document will be displayed
    • Description - Brief summary of contents
    • Category - Type of document (syllabus, directive, reading, etc.)
    • Course (optional) - Associate with a specific course
    • Lesson (optional) - Associate with a specific lesson
  4. Click "Upload"

The system will process the document and extract its content for AI use.

Document Processing

After upload, documents are:

  • Parsed - Text is extracted from the file
  • Chunked - Content is split into searchable segments
  • Indexed - Added to the knowledge base for AI retrieval

Processing may take a few minutes for large documents. You can check status on the document list.

Editing Documents

To update document metadata:

Deleting a document removes it from the knowledge base. This may affect AI coaching quality for related topics.

Managing Exam Questions

Exam questions are what students prepare answers for.

Creating Questions

  1. Go to the Questions section
  2. Click "Add Question"
  3. Enter the question text
  4. Select associated learning outcomes
  5. Set the question as active or draft
  6. Save

Question Organization

Questions can be:

  • Active - Visible to students for preparation
  • Draft - Hidden while being developed
  • Archived - Removed from active use but preserved

Linking to Learning Outcomes

Each question should link to relevant learning outcomes (PLOs). This helps:

  • Guide AI coaching toward relevant content
  • Track student progress on specific outcomes
  • Ensure comprehensive exam coverage

Knowledge Base

The knowledge base contains processed content from your documents. It powers:

  • AI coaching suggestions
  • RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) for contextual help
  • Reference material for panel simulations

Reviewing the Knowledge Base

View what content has been indexed:

  1. Go to Admin > Knowledge Base
  2. Browse indexed documents
  3. See chunk counts and processing status

Maintaining Quality

For best AI performance:

  • Upload high-quality source documents
  • Remove outdated or incorrect materials
  • Ensure comprehensive coverage of exam topics
  • Update content when course materials change
